"You shall fear only the LORD your God; and you shall worship Him. "

Deuteronomy 6:13
WORSHIP AND SERVE

Read It: Matthew 4:10-11
Did you know you have no obligation at all to the Devil? When Jesus got tired of that mess, He told Satan, "Get out of here!" We owe the Devil nothing-not our worship or our service. But too many of us worship ship God on Sunday and then serve Satan all week long. But Sunday is supposed to be the precursor to what you do Monday through Saturday. After Satan laid out his best offer, Jesus laid out His bottom line. Worship and serve God only, period. Based on Jesus' temptation, I believe that if you resist the Devil three times about any one temptation, he must leave you at that time when you use the Word. You say, "Well, he's not fleeing from me. He's all over me!" Why? The problem may be you are not using the Word. That's the lesson son I want you to take away from this week. The Devil is not impressed by what you know or think. He only leaves when the Word of God comes into play. Jesus hit Satan three times with God's Word, and he left. Then the angels showed up. You know, sometimes God leaves you out there naked with just His Word. No angelic help, nothing except His Word. He wants to know, `Are you going to do anything with this?" Now what do you think those angels did?

Well, I can tell you what they did. Number one, they brought Jesus food because He was hungry. They also encouraged Him because that's what He needed. And they worshiped Him because that's what He deserved. But they didn't do any of that until the spiritual battle was over. God's Word teaches that if you are His child, there is an angel assigned to minister ister to you. Angels are God's delivery boys. Their job is to deliver God's blessings, but only according to His timetable. That means we need to adjust our focus to the authority of Christ. He's the One who has authority over the Devil. You can't beat thea Devil. You can't overcome or resist him on your own. But you can in Christ's authority. Think About It One purpose of Sunday is to remind you that when you go out into the world on Monday, you are supposed to take the God you worship with you and serve Him alone.
