"All things are possible with God. "
Mark 10:27
HERE, LORD
Read It: Matthew 14:17-18; John 6:8-9 Yesterday we saw that Philip didn't have much hope of anything being done about the circumstance they were facing, because all he could see was how little they had. But there was another disciple on the scene, Peter's brother Andrew. Philip said, "Forget it." Andrew said, "I've been scouring around, and I found a boy with his lunch." Barley loaves were little pancakes, the poor people's food. It would be like us having sardines and crackers for dinner. ner. While Philip saw no way the people could be fed, at least Andrew saw some hope. Not much, to be sure. He still had limited vision. But as I said yesterday, what can or can't be done is never the question tion when Jesus is on the scene. The issue is the will of God, not the size of the problem. Regardless of what you're facing, the question is always, what is the will of God? He can always afford whatever He chooses to do. There is never a lack of resources with God. Now there was a third person present that day. That little boy was the star of the show He hadn't gone to seminary, hadn't been trained in theology, ology, didn't have all of that knowledge.
All he knew was, `Jesus would like your lunch." This boy was poor, but the little that he did have he made available to Jesus. I don't know what the boy thought or what he was going through. All I know is that at some point he said, "Here, Lord." Now he could have started talking about, "It's my lunch. My mama made this lunch for me, and neither Jesus nor anyone else is getting it." He could have been like a lot of us who want to go through the spiritual motions but don't want to give Jesus what we have. We want to keep it to ourselves. This little boy gave Jesus what he had. Is there anything God wants from you that you are holding back from Him? Whether it's your skills, your financial resources, or whatever, if you hold out on God, you lose. And others whom God would have blessed through you lose too. Jesus can make more of what you have than you ever could anyway! Think About It Never be afraid to give something to Jesus. He knows what to do with it.
