"If God is for us, who is against us?"
Romans 8:31
SOLD!
Read It: Genesis 37:12-28; 39:1-6 Let's see. One of Joseph's brothers makes a motion that they kill him, and the motion carries nine to one. Reuben saves Joseph, but the boys throw him into a pit and then sell him to traders on their way to Egypt where Joseph becomes a slave (v 36). I would call that rejection. Perhaps you have been rejected for one reason or another. Maybe you discovered that people you thought loved you don't really love you at all. Well, that's Joseph's story. He has been sold like an animal by his own brothers and finds himself in a hostile land. But don't miss Genesis 39:2: "The LORD was with Joseph." This is the covenant name for God. The God who keeps His promises kept His eye on Joseph in Egypt. You say, `Joseph had a bad family background." But the Lord was with Joseph. You say, "His brothers hated him, got rid of him." But the Lord was with Joseph.
You say, `Joseph was just a teenager many miles from home." But the Lord was with Joseph. Because the Lord was with him, Joseph became successful. The first principle of rebounding from broken relationships is that even when the people you love don't want you, if you stay with the Lord, you can still get somewhere. Joseph was rejected by his loved ones, but he was accepted by the Lord. Regardless of what happened to you yesterday, day, if you will remain faithful to the Lord today, He can control your tomorrow Many people who have been mistreated are still focusing on the people who hurt them, waiting for them to make things right. That isn't going to happen in a lot of cases. Those who are wronged need to turn to the One who won't hurt them and who is there to help them. The fact is that some broken relationships are not going to get fixed. You may never get your parents to accept you. You may never be able to completely heal some relationships. You may not be able to get around that problem you have been living with all these years. But the Lord can take you where you are and still make you a success. Broken relationships don't have to control you. Think About It If the Lord is with you, in the final analysis it doesn't matter who's against you.
