There's something wrong when Christians say, "I can't," about something thing when God has already said, "You can." See, if you are a Christian who says, "I can't," you don't understand who your God is and who you are. If the resurrection power of Christ in you means anything, it means that you now have the power resident within you to do things you couldn't normally do. As Christians our job description is to demonstrate the power of Christ in everyday situations-and there's no place where the resurrection power of Jesus Christ needs to be seen more graphically today than in this area of marriage and family life. That's what we want to focus on for the next four weeks.
We've got a problem here, no question, because too many Christian husbands and wives say they can't work it out. Too many fathers are bailing ing out on their families.
Too many mothers are trying to carry unnatural loads laid on them by their culture and the expectations of others. My goal for this section is to help you avoid the pitfalls and patch up any potholes that may have already developed in the course of daily living. ing. I want these days together to be a joyful celebration of the good things God built into us as men and women. Besides, it's an embarrassment to the kingdom and to our awesome God when people who name the name Jesus Christ keep winding up in someone's divorce court. That's when the world sits back and says, "Is that all your God can do for you?" So we're going back to the beginning on this thing. And we're starting with the man, because that's where God started. You may have read today's verses and said to yourself, "These don't have anything to do with marriage." Well, I said we were going to dig down to the foundations. So here is today's scoop. Ladies, before God ever gave Adam a wife, he gave him a job (v. 15) and instructions to obey (vv. 16-17). Don't mess with a man who isn't interested in working and obeying God! Think About It Manhood is more than the ability to wear pants. It's the ability to take divine truth and make it work in the home.
