"Abraham called the name of that place The LORD Will Provide. "

Genesis 22:14
DO SOMETHING, LORD
Read It: Genesis 22:7-13

So many of us see so little of God's power in action because we believe so little of God. Too many Christians have a midget God, and so they get midget blessings, midget joy, midget peace, and midget power. If you want to experience God, you've got to put confidence in His Word even when that Word appears to be contradictory. That brings us back to Abraham. We're slowly getting him and Isaac up that mountain this week. So they are on their way up when Isaac says, "Hey, Dad, I'm a little confused." "What's the problem, son?" "Well, we've made this trip plenty of times. Every time we've come before we've brought something to sacrifice. Where's the sacrifice?" Abraham says, "Isaac, the Lord is going to come up with something. I don't have the slightest idea what, but He will provide." That, my friend, is the confidence of faith! There are some things in life only God can take care of, some things you don't have the answer for. But faith is confidence the Lord is going to come up with something. You say, "I don't see anything." But you are not the Lord, so therefore you are not supposed to come up with something. You are supposed to get on your knees and say, "Lord, I know You are going to come up with something. I don't know when or how, but I am going to hold my ground because I am confident You are going to honor Your Word." So they finally get to the top of the mountain, and Abraham lays Isaac on the altar. Now here's where most of us would have said, "Okay, God, you're cutting it close here. I did my part. I got up. I got him dressed. I brought him to the mountain. I answered his questions. I got him on the altar. The party's over. I'm through!" Have you ever done that with God?

Have you ever said, "Come on, Lord, You should have done something by now"? Don't cave in at the moment of truth, because that's when the test is passed. Think About It You've got to love Abraham's response because, remember, he didn't have Genesis 22 or Hebrews 11 to read! All he had was pure, even raw faith.
