"Behold, heaven and the highest heaven cannot contain Thee. "

1 Kings 8:27
HE'S EVERYWHERE Read It:
Isaiah 43:1-7 God is everywhere. He's immense. Nothing can contain Him because He is omnipresent, present everywhere all at the same time. Theologians call it His immensity. Many of us understand immensity when we go into the closet and put on our clothes, only to burst out of them. You know someone's gaining weight when a lot of new suits and dresses start showing up. That's one of the telltale signs that some dead monkey is on the line somewhere! That's what happens when you stuff God into the universe. Solomon says, "You burst out of it. It cannot contain You." God's presence is so vast that not only is He everywhere in the known universe, but He bursts through its boundaries and fills the things we don't even know about. God's presence is also distinct in that all of Him exists everywhere. He is not broken up into parts. Each little piece of the universe has the entire presence of God. The reason we know this is that God's being cannot be divided.

Yet even though God is equally present everywhere in all of His fullness, He is not equally related to everyone and everything. In other words, there is an equality of essence, but not of relationship. The Bible says, for example, that people need to call on God "while He is near" (Isaiah 55:6). That's not a statement about God's essence, but about the way He relates to people. Again, the prophet says God's people "remove [d] their hearts far from Me" (Isaiah 29:13). This is a moral and spiritual statement, not a reflection on God's omnipresence. God the Father was there when Jesus died, yet Jesus said, "My God! My God! Why hast Thou forsaken Me?" Isaiah 43:1-7 teaches that God takes care of His own. He is present with His children in a way that He is not present with those who don't know Him. If you know Jesus Christ, God treats you like one of the family. You enjoy His special relational presence. You can call Him "Abba," which means Daddy. Talk about benefits! Think About It It's one thing to say that God is everywhere. It's quite another to realize that because you are His child, He's with you everywhere you
