Faith In A Big God
DEUTERONOMY 33:27
The eternal God is a dwelling place, And underneath are the everlasting arms.
Two business partners had to travel to a small town for a very important meeting that held great potential for their company—and for their careers. The problem was that the small town was located some distance from a major airport. The only flights in and out of this town were on small twin-engine prop planes. A few days before the meeting, one of the businessmen told the other, “I’ve decided not to go.” “What! Why not?” asked the partner. “I am not getting on one of those tiny planes.” Apparently, the size of this man’s faith was tied to the size of the plane. When the plane got smaller, his faith got smaller. So the business partner traveled to the meeting alone, and it ended up being a game-changer. He was offered a new partnership with the people he had gone to meet with. He was offered a greater salary and a larger stake in the new company than what he had before.
He was given greater influence and a greater return on his investment of both time and money. The offer would have gone to both of them had the business partner shown enough faith to fly in the small plane. But because he didn’t, the offer only went to the one. And the business partner who decided to stay home out of fear lost that which was most dear to him. God is a big God, and He is worthy of your faith. But when your view of God is small, you won’t have the courage to go wherever He wants you to go. You will limit yourself through fear. And you will miss out on all He has stored up for you. If your faith is small, your return is small. Do you want a large destiny? Then have large faith.
Dear God, increase my faith in ways I have never imagined. I want to experience You fully and know You, and I know my experience will broaden along with my faith. Show me how to trust in You more and more each day.
