Who Will Foot The Bill?
PHILIPPIANS 4:19
My God will supply all your needs according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus. God always provides for what He destines. If you are not experiencing His provision, it could be that you are not walking in your destiny. God is not obligated to provide for the destiny you want to have; He is only obligated to provide for the destiny He has designed you to fulfill. When Jonah boarded a ship to attempt to run from God to Tarshish—in the opposite direction of his purpose in Nineveh—we read that Jonah had to pay his own fare. Jonah had to foot his own bill. He had to cover himself. Such is the case when we venture into a direction that is not within God’s purpose for our lives. Elijah is a perfect example of someone who took God at His Word and trusted in His ability to provide for the calling He had given. One day God provided for Elijah with ravens. Another time He provided through a widow at Zarephath.
Even though the source through which God provided varied from time to time, Elijah was faithful to do what God had purposed, knowing that God would provide for him along the way. God will provide everything you need—financially, emotionally, and spiritually—to fulfill His purpose for you. Keep your eyes open for His provision, though, because it doesn’t always come in the expected and ordinary ways. He will provide for you in a way that will allow you the greatest opportunity to maximize your destiny.
Thank You, God, for Your provision in my life. Thank You for meeting my emotional, spiritual, and financial needs. And where I may have needs, guide me into the abundance You have for me through Your promises of provision.
