MEET WITH GOD FACE TO FACE

Exodus 33:7-11
7 Now Moses used to take a tent and pitch it outside the camp some distance away, calling it the “tent of meeting.” Anyone inquiring of the Lord would go to the tent of meeting outside the camp. 8 And whenever Moses went out to the tent, all the people rose and stood at the entrances to their tents, watching Moses until he entered the tent. 9 As Moses went into the tent, the pillar of cloud would come down and stay at the entrance, while the Lord spoke with Moses. 10 Whenever the people saw the pillar of cloud standing at the entrance to the tent, they all stood and worshiped, each at the entrance to their tent. 11 The Lord would speak to Moses face to face, as one speaks to a friend. Then Moses would return to the camp, but his young aide Joshua son of Nun did not leave the tent.
Developing the discipline to spend time in God's presence is crucial if we are going to see real and lasting change in our lives. It is in His presence that transformation takes place. The passage above tells us how to meet with God.

The passage says that it is in a designated place far away from all distractions. You will need to establish a place where you can be alone with God on a daily basis.
I encourage you to begin with 15 minutes per session as you develop this habit. It takes time before you can learn to quiet the numerous thoughts that tend to run through your mind at this time. Don't be discouraged.... it is an acquired discipline.
Eventually you will find that much more than 15 minutes will pass and you will not want to leave God's presence. Moses spent 40 days and 40 nights in God's presence on Mount Horeb as he received the 10 Commandments. I'm sure he didn't realize he was there that long.

You may be thinking that you wouldn't qualify to be in God's presence.
The good news is that it says "Anyone" inquiring of the Lord would go to the tent of meeting outside the camp.

You need to go to God, not the other way around. When you go in, He will show up. He is always desiring to spend time with you because he loves you and wants to tell you what's best for you, if you ask Him.

He will speak to you as a friend when you seek Him with all your heart.
